NARUTO ナルト vs. FAIRY TAIL フェアリーテイル??

I have been wondering for a long time, about something. About NARUTO and FAIRY TAIL. To tell the truth, both of this manga are quite similar to each other. Not the story plot, not the characters, but the morale of it. Both of them have very persistent and stubborn main character, and also kind and a type of 'idiot' and 'heroic' character. Just look at Natsu and Naruto. Idiot in many ways but kind, helpful and heroic as well. Not to mention, they both have hidden true powers in them yet to be trained and polished. I guess many Japanese authors love idiotic yet strong characters eh?

The story are both good, but in my opinion, FAIRY TAIL is better. Maybe because of NARUTO's long and 'dragged' story. The manga is still OK, but the anime is hell. I mean, a battle can last to few episodes and the time is wasted on the moves and tactics and the projected thoughts of the characters. I think it's bit annoying, really, because what people want is the main of the story and some brief and cool actions, not like '10 minutes of the characters looking at each other and thinking hard' or something similar. There are also episodes which ARE NOT in the manga at all. For example, NARUTO SHIPPUDEN episode 176 until episode 196 - they are all flashback from the past. It's nice that we know a bit of their past, but in my opinion, it should have been released in NARUTO sequel no? Maybe they can put one to three flashbacks episodes on NARUTO SHIPPUDEN but, 176 to 196 is just too much. And it dragged the movie for so long.

In FAIRY TAIL, there is nothing like that. The story is a bit different from the manga, yes, but it's summarised well and no dragged-on story. It's clear and concise. There are also one or two extra episodes in FAIRY TAIL, but it's in the manga, as far as I remember. And it's not that many.

Well, I'm thinking that I am in no position to criticise this, however I remembered again that I am a FAN, and criticising is one of a fan's job to help the author right? Haha, I guess you could say that. But this is the major problem. NARUTO makes me feel nostalgic and I don't really long for the video anymore since it's dragged on too long, and when I watched it, I'll feel that my NARUTO-freak genes will wake up again, but when it's over, there's nothing more. As for FAIRY TAIL, since the story is going on and stuff, I look forward to it more than NARUTO.

But, I still like NARUTO though, since it's my first favourite shounen manga, and the beginning of all shounen manga I have read and watched today like BLEACH. I think BLEACH also have a bit of NARUTO's virus - the long, boring and dragging episodes. ^^

Weekend Events

Wow! It has been a month since I started my school, and I really wanted school to end soon! Class is really boring, and I don't think consuming coffee every morning before class (3 times a week) is good for health. Anyways, I think I'll cope.

Yesterday, 5 March was Mardi Gras day! (For more information, you can click on the link)
I planned to go with a friend of mine, but she said that her husband doesn't want to go, so I can't go either. There would be many men on the street, in their undies of something like that, and I don't want to go there myself, in the late of night. Well, maybe next year when I am fully 18 years old. Haha.

And today, there is a festival from school as well! It's NSW International Student Festival, and I have asked my Chinese girlfriend to go, but she just told me like 3 hours before the festival that she's not going because her uncle's family is coming and she has to clean up the house for their lodge, and by the way, family coming here must have some kind of early notifications, no? That's so funny and she still said that she wanted to go because she doesn't have anything to do.

Well anyway, the festival was NOT VERY GOOD. It's in Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour, and there are only few people there when I came, at 11:30 AM. Well, people sang songs on the stage, some danced a bit and there are stands which sells food, like international delicacies, which is what described in the flyer, but it's not appealing at all. And I thought it was free to international students! But no, you have to pay. I'd rather go outside to QVB or TGV or David Jones foodhall for lunch. I'm pretty conceited but, I am like this. I want something good and worth buying or consuming it.

Here are some pictures I took from the festival. The sky is quite gloomy today and the weather is like 19 degrees, but it has nice breeze. They said the 2010 winner of Australia's Got Talent, Justice Crew is coming and gonna perform some dances but I am not gonna wait till they come. I mean, I am not even a fan, I just recently know that Australia has this TV show as well... I only know America though. LOL

The last picture was actually the sign 'Tumbalong Park', but it's dark and I took the picture from the wrong angle so.... - anyway, that's all. :P
