Happy Chinese New Year everyone! I wish you good luck, prosperity and health and may you have a wonderful, prosperous new year on this Rabbit year!
Sadly I am not celebrating with my family as usual. It's due to my studies that's why. I can only spend this with my cousins who happens to live here in Sydney as well. Well, I just hoped that this will quickly pass, and then when I got a job and earned money, I can rent and gradually buy a house and drag my family here. That's what motivate me, but sometimes I still feel very afraid to work, I mean, I haven't got any experience in working, and then what if I am not on good relationship with the boss or my co-workers, something like that.
Yesterday, we had a hot pot. The picture is not very clear, as it's from the side I'm taking picture, well, I tried to take some pics again but my iPhone wasn't working. I guess there's really a grave problem on it. The pot looks quite the same with the pot in Korean movies. They usually use it to cook ramen, and eat them on the lid of the pot.
I couldn't say it as delicious, but it's still edible. After that, Mel, my oldest cousin here, brought us to a karaoke she usually goes with her friends and we sang a lot, and went home at 11 plus. And they were still hanging on computers and laptops and phones after so late and I thought, what would happen if I eventually stay with them later after my college is finished this July? Well, I don't even want to imagine it, and with the quickest idea possible, I thought of requesting a room for myself and if possible again, a toilet of my own. It seems impossible to share a toilet with them, I don't know, but I don't like the way their toilet is now, I feel like I wanted to rearrange them all after looking at it, but no offence to them, alright? I was just being straightforward, and saying my opinions. Well, I might share toilet with them, but maybe not the room. I was used to having my own room since I came here (I always sleep with my little sister back in my home) and I wouldn't want to sleep with others again since I have already settled with a room of my own, but let's see after that whether I had earned money or not, because a room of our own means bigger expense! Duh.
And finally I woke up today and Happy New Year everyone! There isn't a feel of Chinese New Year here. Maybe not here in the city. But I heard from my previous host that there were some fireworks around her suburb. So probably the suburbs were more lively than the city people, eh?
It's quite a sad feeling not to be able to spend new year with family, usually our new year are always boring, but this year, my family and my cousin Cindy's family are gathering together with my aunt from Medan, and they had reunion dinner yesterday night at Batam. And today they went to Singapore and probably be sitting in the casino, gambling by now, while my little sister, and Cindy's little brother, also my cousin, Albert wander off by themselves, because they can't go inside the casino. What a turn of events. Who would know that they actually went to casino in the first day of New Year?
